President Barack Obama at Cancer Survivors Day 2005
(Click on the photo to see it full size.)
For the fifteenth consecutive year, in 2005 I was invited to host a table at the Triumph Over Cancer Cancer Survivors Day celebration of the University of Chicago Medical Center. One of the guests at the event was then Senator Barack Obama, as a rising star of the National Democratic Party. I was introduced to the Senator and had the chance to talk about my work. This photo was from the "photo op" he and his family held after his remarks. Not surprisingly, I am delighted that the "Senator" Obama I met is now "President" Obama. When we spoke I told him I felt as if I had just met the next President of the United States. He chuckled. -

My practice has been a part of the University of Chicago Medical Center Cancer Survivors Program since 1990. Every year the Medical Center hosts a celebration at an upscale Chicago hotel for patients and clients. This is photo of a recent celebration attended by more than 800 people with celebrity guests. -

One of the delightful new touches at the 2005 Triumph Over Cancer Celebration hosted by the University of Chicago Medial Center was this featured harpist in the display area. She is playing a production prototype of an electric bardic harp. The sound was amazing. -

I am a Certified Instructor with the National Guild of Hypnotists. While I no longer have time to do basic instruction, I still teach advanced techniques. This is a photo of me leading the Medical Hypnotism Certification Class of the National Guild of Hypnotists. I am the author of this curriculum. -
I don't always agree.

This was a candid snapshot taken by a colleague when I was listening to a presentation with which I didn't agree. People ask me if I always dress the same, and I do. My clients have lives that are changing, so I try to keep my appearance about the same from day-to-day. -

At the request of the National Guild of Hypnotists I often present seminars and workshops for colleagues around the nation. Most recently I taught a seminar at the "Solid Gold" mini-convention held in Las Vegas. This is a photo of the Paris, which was a short walk from the conference center. -

In 2005 I decided my display table at medical events needed a facelift and this is the new display I designed. It features free CDs I give out to people who are living with cancer, my new full-color brochure and a display that highlights my research into hypnotism as a tool in health care. -
Cancer Survivor's Day Showing my Display Table

I direct the first medically approved, hospital based clinic in America for the hypnotic treatment of cancer. The clinic is called ICAN and it is described elsewhere in this web site. About three times each year the program is featured at some professional or medical gathering. At such gatherings an informational table like this is always displayed. This photo was taken at a recent University of Chicago Cancer Survivors Day.
