I wanted to let active clients know about changes that will taking place in my office environment so you are not surprised when you walk through the door.

Clients know that the restroom has been under renovation for several weeks. Next week I will be closed for a few days while a crew removes the existing bathtub and shower from the upstairs restroom (a room we share with the clients who come to my home office). It will be replaced with a modern, deep soaking tub and a German shower massage unit. The wall treatments will also be upgraded. A coat of paint will complete the project. All this is for the comfort and pleasure of those who live here, but the room will look nicer for everyone.

While I am closed I will also be upgrading the recording equipment in my office. The audio workstation was converted from analog to digital last month. Everyone has enjoyed the higher quality of the sound, as well as the LightScribe drive that burns your name right onto the CD I make for you at each session. The break offered by the bathroom project will give me the time to install the final components of the new system.

The obvious audio upgrade will be the removal of the large analog mixing board. It will be replaced with one of the new generation of hybrid analog/digital sound mixers. They preserve the “warmer” tone that comes from an analog unit while also connecting to the computer system over a Firewire interface like a digital console. The result is that I will be able to effortlessly stream information back and forth from the computer to the mixer. This will allow me to create an even more sophisticated recording for you. The new mixer will have a slightly smaller footprint than the old one, but will be visibly more complex and will have its own illumination system.

With this change my office system will be more than just “state-of-the-art.” It will be absolute cutting-edge.

Finally, the upgrades will conclude with a new carpet throughout the public areas of the building. The new carpet will be the same thick organic fabric that was installed in my office about a year ago when it was professionally redecorated. It should look lovely and will give the entire building a more upscale look and feel.

Once these changes are complete. I will overhaul the portable system that I use at my ICAN Hospital program and at my four Free Clinics. The new portable system will be all digital, much more closely computerized and will use a just-released Firewire Control Surface from Apogee Electronics. The new system will be very “high tech” and will have much better performance capability. It will allow me to give you a more powerful hypnotic experience than I have been able to do up to now at my Free Clinics.

There’s an old joke that the “difference between men and boys in the price of their toys.” While that’s true, I always add another line. It say “and the difference between ordinary men and wise men is that wise men have toys that are tax-deductable!”
